The Battle of Life

When trouble shows its mocking face,

When life flies by and you can’t keep pace,

Stand strong, head upright,

Face your demons put up a brave fight;

When failure comes by again, when you 

Can’t get up paralyzed with pain,

Refuse to let it conquer you,

Fight, lose,win-see failure through;

When a grey cloud surrounds you,

When hope seems but futile to you,

Fix your gaze and face the cloud, see that

Through the haze the sun shines proud;

When life’s battle threatens to lose its fame,  

When darkness overwhelms and puts out the 

flame,

Lift your eyes to the highest veil,

Find divine courage within and let it prevail;

When you fight a lone soldier on the battlefield,

When tired and alone to surrender you yield,

Look to the God who promised thee rest,

Turn to him, be safe at his gentle breast;

Let us all remember, wars are won and lost,

But life is a battle that belongs to the Lord,

And when the battle cry cease and we stand before our God,

We will be asked,” Did you fight yours for the Lord?”
